Characteristics of Adult Learners

Adult come to class with knowledge, life experience, and individual goals together with responsibilities and commitments. The learner’s time is precious. Learning must be inclusive and meet the needs of every learner. Guided by this, will help me develop curriculum that is interesting, relevant and inspiring. I will utilize the collective knowledge in the room and value it as a resource. If I develop activities that employ the knowledge, talent and skills of the group the learning will be dynamic. Collaborative learning, people helping and sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm is an important component of adult learning.
