Fixed Mindset or Growth Mindset?

Should I try it? Can I do it? Do I have the ability? Will I embarass myself? Is it too hard for me? What will people think of me?

Does any question resonates with you?  Have you asked them all? I know I have.

If you answer with a positive perspective to the answers you have a Growth Mindset. Congratulations, if you want something you will be motivated to go after it regardless of the barriers and challenges. You believe you have the ability to learn and grow. You don’t strive for perfectionism.

If you answer with a negative perspective then you are probably experiencing a fixed mindset. You hold yourself back from trying things that you don’t think you can do. You believe you live with a fixed amount of talent and ability. It is too risky to put yourself out there in case you make a mistake or embarass your self. You have to do it perfect or not at all.

The good news is that the fixed mindset can be changed. Every person experiences the fear of failure. The key to overcoming it is to trust that life will be so much richer if you face it and take the first step out of the comfort zone. A rich life is lived in the process!
